Spare me.
It is nothing to do with this or that, with romance or friendship, it is simply a matter of character. When we don't own up to our own actions or words, we insult those people around us that get caught in the crossfire. Assumptions are insulting, as are words that bare no meaning except to inflate our own egos. As a wise man once said: spare me.
